Ohioans need your help!

9 Concepts Counseling is about offering Bible-based mental health counseling to Ohioans in need. I've identified one extremely unfortunate and restrictive reality regarding my ability to provide Bible-based mental health counseling to the residents of Ohio - FUNDING! I’m transitioning to a solely donation-based practice so that I can provide a service that addresses the mental health needs of all Ohioans, but especially those who wouldn’t have been able to afford the service otherwise. I am NOT a 501 (c)3 organization because these organizations are regulated by the federal government, primarily through the IRS, which sets specific rules for their operation and tax-exempt status. I will not be a participant in an audit process that attempts to dictate how I provide services to my client base. I will not be a participant in a system that attempts to control the delivery of the service I offer in any way. The Biblical foundation of the service I offer will not change. The service I offer will always be based on God's inerrant word as the most applicable instruction for whatever struggle(s) we suffer from in our current lives. All Ohioans who are willing to participate in a Bible-based evaluation of their struggles and submit themselves to the instruction of the Bible are welcome and encouraged to participate in the service I offer. The acquisition of service fees ($122.64 per 60-minute session) for 25 sessions per week for 48 weeks out of the year (1200 clinical hours, not including documentation time, which is approximately a 1:1 ratio) and yearly operating expenses to include clinical supervision ($11,108.77) will need to be acquired solely through the generosity of donors to ensure the service is made available to all Ohioans. There is absolutely no lack of need in the population for the services I want to provide, but there is an overwhelming lack of financial means for Ohioans to acquire such services. To put it bluntly, the general service of mental health counseling, no matter how necessary for the individual, is extremely limited by being considered a financial luxury for most, and unfortunately, those who can't afford services are suffering. This is tragic. I'm not willing to continue to allow this to happen. Speaking to a professional about suicidal ideation (an eternally damning decision-making process) could potentially avert such a tragedy and limit the collateral damage that others would inherit as a result. It is necessary, not a luxury! Speaking with a professional about falling so deeply into depression that suicide may begin to seem like a welcome solution is necessary, not a luxury! Speaking with a professional about anxiety that is so bad that the mere thought of leaving one's residence creates a panic that is so real to them that they risk becoming a prisoner inside not only their residence but also themselves (their own mind), is necessary, not a luxury! To be able to talk to a professional about experiencing traumatic circumstances so horrible that each of the previous conditions I've spoken of has the potential to develop within one individual who could've potentially been helped and avoided a most terrible and unnecessary fate, is necessary, not a luxury! Why? I want to ensure that any Ohioan who may be suffering from a mental health condition at least has the opportunity to talk with a professional. I don’t want any Ohioan to do something unnecessarily drastic because they couldn't afford to participate in a Bible-based clinical mental health service. John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." Please consider making a donation to this much-needed service. No amount is too small or too big. Anything helps! Thank you for caring enough about someone else who may be suffering to consider donating. God bless!
